Patient Update on COVID-19

Dear Valued Patient,

We want you to know that Sussex Pain Relief Center is closely monitoring the situation regarding the coronavirus (COVID-19). The health and safety of our patients and staff is the most important thing in the world to us which is why we want to inform you of the policies we are implementing to minimize in-person contact and exposure during this outbreak. We hope you understand that this is the work we do every day, and we take it very seriously.

    • Our office is currently open during regular business hours.
    • We are asking that anyone who is sick, under quarantine, or has been exposed to someone who may have contracted COVID-19, to please to contact us to reschedule appointments. If you suspect you may have COVID-19, contact your PCP immediately so they can evaluate you quickly and safely.
    • Our staff will welcome you at the foyer and screen you for exposure by assessing any symptoms of infection and measuring your temperature.
    • Social distancing: We will not allow more than 10 people at any time in our waiting rooms
    • For those exhibiting symptoms of upper respiratory tract infection, we will provide you with a mask and isolate you in an examination room with the door closed as well as notify all staff caring for you.
    • You are not allowed to bring small children when you come for an appointment at this office.
    • If you are healthy, the CDC does not recommend using face masks. You should only wear a mask if a healthcare provider tells you to do so. There is currently a shortage of face masks nationally.
    • During clinic hours, the staff cleans and disinfects frequently touched surfaces many times on a daily basis. The disinfection includes, but is not limited to, tables, doorknobs, light switches, countertops, handles, desks, keyboards, toilets, faucets, and sinks.
    • We are in the process of setting up a telemedicine portal to be used for patients in future. We will contact you with more information as we develop these protocols.
    • Currently, as recommended by DPH, and the DEA, controlled substances will be prescribed only after an evaluation during your visit.
    • Please follow other general precautions: 1. Cough or sneeze into your elbow, not your hand. If you use a tissue, dispose of it right away. 2. Wash your hands frequently and thoroughly, including the backs of your hands and under your nails, for 20 seconds. Or use alcohol-based hand sanitizer. 3. Do not touch your face, eyes, nose or mouth with unwashed hands.
    • We recognize that the uncertainty around the coronavirus may cause stress and anxiety about your treatment. Please be assured that our practice will do everything we can to ensure your care continues uninterrupted.
    • Please be patient with us as we may experience staff shortages. We hope to have these issues resolved soon, and appreciate your understanding in the matter.
    • For up-to-date information about how the coronavirus is impacting our office and services, please visit www.sussexpainrelief.com.

Sincerely, Dr. Antony
